AMD EPYC Genoa Server (Server)

AMD will reduce the cache size to fit more cores, but beyond that, this will be AMD's high-kernel-count solution, with up to 128 cores per slot. Genoa-X will break the L3 cache barrier of 1GB/socket. Using standard Genoa, we can get up to 384MB of L3 cache per socket or 768MB of L3 cache per 2P server. With Milan-X, we have 64 cores and up to 768MB of L3 cache per slot, and Genoa-X will target applications, such as those in the HPC space, where adding 3D V-cache increases data locality and thus reduces power waste on moving data.
